General Activities

  1. LibreOffice 26.2.5 was announced on July 23
  2. Olivier Hallot (TDF) added help pages for many new Calc functions and for matrix input dialog in Math and improved help for regular expressions
  3. Alain Romedenne added help for the Python modules scriptforge, msgbox and officehelper
  4. Miklós Vajna (Collabora) fixed an issue with deleted change-tracked text and made Markdown import of lists more robust
  5. Xisco Faulí (TDF) fixed formula range selection in Calc, fixed a transparency issue in OOXML image filters, fixed many test issues, added some automated tests, fixed many issues found by static analysers, did code cleanups and upgraded many dependencies
  6. Mike Kaganski (Collabora) fixed broken connectors in PPTX import, fixed axis title positioning in charts with data tables in XLSX files, made target cells retain their protection upon pasting in Calc, fixed a positioning issue with images in frames, improved the OOXML and RTF import of inline formulas, made Google Drive authentication work properly on Linux and macOS and fixed some crashes
  7. Caolán McNamara (Collabora) made the handling of Firebird databases in ODB files more robust, fixed crashes and many issues found by fuzzers and static analysers and did code cleanups and optimisations
  8. Justin Luth (Collabora) did so many fixes, improvements and feature implementations to find and replace functionality that it’s difficult to do the work justice in the confines of a summary post like this. One notable aspect of the effort is improvements to finding and replacing attributes. Help was also updated and lots of bug triaging was involved. In addition to the work on find, Justin polished line spacing calculation in Writer and made moving list entries more robust
  9. Michael Weghorn (TDF) worked on the facilities for creating a new Qt theme for LibreOffice, improved the accessibility of Calc’s options, worked on using native widgets in Qt UIs and did many code cleanups
  10. Balázs Varga (Collabora) fixed XLSX export of custom table style borders
  11. Christian Lohmaier (TDF) fixed an (unreleased) macOS crash and worked on making LibreOffice builds reproducible
  12. Heiko Tietze (TDF) fixed incrementing values using stepper buttons and fixed a colour glitch in the Mail Merge wizard
  13. Neil Roberts (TDF) made it possible to use Python to browse and manage macros, fixed object handles changing to rotate mode after resizing, fixed crashes and did code cleanups
  14. Karthik Godha (Collabora) fixed importing character styles of data bindings in structured document tags (SDTs) from Microsoft Word formats, fixed handling of negative spacing in paragraphs in Microsoft Word formats, fixed positioning of centered tables next to floating tables in Writer and made PDF export of image-heavy presentations faster
  15. Andreas Heinisch fixed unwanted gaps in cell backgrounds of Calc tables pasted as OLE objects to Impress, fixed insert and overwrite mode becoming reversed while editing a cell in Calc’s Formula bar, made changes to drawing scale apply immediately to rulers in Draw, fixed pasting superscript elements as HTML when the source contains class names, added a separator line between pinned and unpinned items in Start Center, fixed selecting the entire sheet in Calc when drawing objects were selected, fixed entered data disappearing if “Select unprotected cells” was run first in a sheet with only protected cells and fixed updating of glued connector targets when moving objects
  16. Kurt Nordback (Collabora) worked on OOXML Chartex chart support
  17. Jonathan Clark (TDF) fixed a freeze triggered by character transliteration and fixed issues with gallery
  18. András Timár (Collabora) fixed importing password-protected PDFs that are of PDF 1.7 format or newer
  19. Khaled Hosny (Alif Type) fixed text search match offsets around surrogate pairs, implemented support for typographic font styles in a cross-platform way and including OOXML export and improved PDF export of non-Western text
  20. Julien Nabet improved EPUB cover image compatibility with EPUB readers, fixed incorrect pattern fill in imported SVG files, fixed a bitmap transparency issue and did many code cleanups
  21. Dan Williams (TDF) worked on Qt UI for macOS and fixed showing OpenType PostScript fonts on macOS
  22. Christopher Sherlock fixed a Python test issue, fixed a macOS crash and did code cleanups and refactoring in VCL
  23. Pranam Lashkari (Collabora) made AutoCorrect for typographic quotes be done in a single step to avoid undo weirdness and fixed an undo issue with change-tracked deletions
  24. Michael Stahl (Collabora) fixed a build issue
  25. Stephan Bergmann (Collabora) did some code cleanups and adapted the code to compiler changes
  26. Vissarion Fisikopoulos (TDF) implemented warning dialogs for SQL query editing in Base and worked on the C++ rewrite of Report Builder
  27. Tomaž Vajngerl (Collabora) worked on Calc dynamic array support and LAMBDA and callable functions, made pasting of named tables and database ranges more robust, added a sequential linear programming (SLP) solver and improved the SwarmSolver
  28. Noel Grandin (Collabora) made the code for finding hidden columns in Calc faster
  29. Jim Raykowski fixed incorrect search results in Writer when the string is only found at the beginning or end of a document and fixed paragraph style spotlight markers being rendered off canvas in Web View
  30. Patrick Luby fixed window content jittering during resize on macOS
  31. Manish Bera created new automated tests for Writer as part of Google Summer of Code
  32. Aya Jamal worked on OpenType math font support as part of Google Summer of Code
  33. Ilmari Lauhakangas (TDF) fixed unnecessary code spans within code blocks in Markdown export
  34. Rizal Muttaqin added icons to the icon themes
  35. László Németh worked on smart hyphenation and added a hyphenation slider feature for adjusting paragraph layout using better spacing or less hyphenation
  36. Dennis Francis (Collabora) fixed pasting HTML with embedded images to Calc
  37. Ben Urban implemented callable function support in Calc. LAMBDA, ISOMITTED, BYCOL, BYROW, MAKEARRAY, MAP, REDUCE and SCAN are now available
  38. Áron Budea (Collabora) fixed an issue with exporting user-defined functions to XLSX
  39. Denis Falqueto improved Presenter Console in Impress by making the slide overview scroll to the current slide and letting Esc close the slide overview
  40. Ivan Kuznetsov did code cleanups in Android
  41. Rafał Dobrakowski made it possible to copy status bar function values in Calc
  42. Hossein Nourikhah (TDF) fixed SDK lacking cross platform .NET binding files and fixed a Windows build issue
  43. Sofia Gazizova (ALT Linux) fixed incorrect first-line indent in RTL numbered lists in binary DOC files
  44. Andrey Ovsyhno (ALT Linux) fixed an image wrapping issue in DOCX files and fixed endnotes going missing when exporting to DOCX
