General Activities

  1. LibreOffice 26.8.0 was announced on August 26
  2. Olivier Hallot (TDF) added help pages for Calc’s ARRAYTOTEXT function, the easy conditional formatting feature, saving database queries, the VBA Like operator, added new gutter options to the help page for Page Style dialog, added a mention of autodetection of ISO 8601 date formats into the help for text import, updated the help for Draw’s Duplicate dialog with the new HSL color interpolation functionality and improved help for complex Calc functions, getting support and the Impress/Draw command for resizing all pages
  3. Alain Romedenne added a new help page for the msgbox Python module, improved help for the officehelper module and updated ScriptForge help
  4. Tulio Macedo added a dark mode to help
  5. Miklós Vajna (Collabora) made Markdown import code more robust
  6. Xisco Faulí (TDF) fixed a crash, added an automated test, fixed many issues found by static analysers, did code cleanups and upgraded many dependencies
  7. Alexander Liggesmeyer (CISPA) fixed a couple of Impress crashes
  8. Mike Kaganski (Collabora) improved the code for handling formulas and number format colours, fixed text going missing in a table row where breaking across pages and columns is disallowed and when a repeated heading row was present, fixed issues with footnotes in tables, fixed issues with anchoring of shapes in tables in RTF files and improved PPTX compatibility with placeholder images and text. He also fixed crashes and did code cleanups
  9. Caolán McNamara (Collabora) fixed HTML import of the attributes of object elements, fixed crashes and many issues found by fuzzers and static analysers and did code cleanups and optimisations
  10. Justin Luth (Collabora) continued improving find and replace functionality, improved the MS Word compatibility of tab stops, fixed an issue with text highlighting not being full height with some line spacing options, improved handling of undoing AutoCorrect actions in editeng (Calc and text boxes), fixed unwanted display of spellchecking options in context menu when right-clicking on numbering in Writer, fixed handling of quotes when using AutoCorrect via “Apply and Edit”, fixed DOCX import of column breaks in tables, fixed undoing “Replace All” in Calc and fixed a shape anchoring issue in DOCX files
  11. Michael Weghorn (TDF) worked on using native widgets in Qt UIs and did many code cleanups
  12. Balázs Varga (Collabora) improved XLSX import of table column names
  13. Christian Lohmaier (TDF) fixed some Windows build errors
  14. Heiko Tietze (TDF) worked on the Tabbed UI, fixed the terminology used for gutter label in case of mirrored style, made the Column Width and Row Height dialogs in Calc open with the value preselected and made the Style Preview widget respect right-to-left UI
  15. Neil Roberts (TDF) fixed read-only state not being dropped immediately when saving a document as a new file, improved automated tests, made the lives of translators easier by adding comments to strings and improving string structure and wording, made it possible to select multiple text ranges via the API, made it possible to use services that implement XInvocation via PyUNO, fixed an (unreleased) issue with the order of hyperlink arguments passed to macros, fixed “Resize all pages” checkbox appearing in apps besides Impress and Draw, made the –language command line option override the configuration and updated paragraph style editing menu path references in help
  16. Karthik Godha (Collabora) optimised PDF export of images and made it so hidden Calc sheets don’t get exported to PDF
  17. Andreas Heinisch fixed database names containing dots being split at the first dot, fixed a Basic macro issue with handling of arrays created by Split() function, fixed comments in Calc preventing the triggering of cell events by clicking, made it so relative paths in URLs are kept when exporting from Calc to HTML, improved the handling of missing parameters in Basic macros and fixed filtering by dates in Pivot Tables
  18. Kurt Nordback (Collabora) started implementing funnel charts and worked on OOXML Chartex chart support
  19. Jonathan Clark (TDF) fixed an SVG rendering issue and fixed a Writer layout issue related to page breaks
  20. Khaled Hosny (Alif Type) upgraded HarfBuzz to 14.3.0 while doing many related code cleanups and made font variation settings be handled per script
  21. Julien Nabet did many improvements to encoding detection in text import, made import of Lotus 1-2-3 documents handle entity encoding, made it so Draw’s Duplicate dialog only shows the colour controls when the shape has a solid colour fill, fixed full-width conversion of CJK text not working in some cases, fixed the Pick button being inactive in Area fill view when the selected object had no fill yet and fixed a crash upon saving from Calc when two automatic cell styles had single-character names and were used on more than one sheet
  22. Dan Williams (TDF) fixed overflowed text not being clipped in PDF export, added an automated test and improved an existing test
  23. Christopher Sherlock fixed a crash in UI code and did code cleanups and refactoring in VCL
  24. Michael Stahl (Collabora) made the PDF encryption code more robust
  25. Tomaž Vajngerl (Collabora) made evaluation of LAMBDA and callable functions more robust in Calc, worked on worked on Calc dynamic array support and made it so pivot tables no longer create cell styles
  26. Noel Grandin (Collabora) made it faster to export PDFs with images and did code cleanups
  27. Jim Raykowski made the paragraph style spotlight appear at the top for vertical writing and made Impress slide properties dialog use “Slide” instead of “Page” everywhere
  28. Patrick Luby fixed some macOS crashes and hangs
  29. Manish Bera created new automated tests for Writer as part of Google Summer of Code
  30. Aya Jamal worked on OpenType math font support as part of Google Summer of Code
  31. Ilmari Lauhakangas (TDF) added an explanation to help about its purpose, made it so newlines in image descriptions get converted into spaces when exporting to Markdown and improved a UI test
  32. László Németh polished the hyphenation slider feature
  33. Ben Urban polished the LAMBDA function implementation in Calc
  34. Áron Budea (Collabora) fixed a Writer crash
  35. Hossein Nourikhah (TDF) did a code cleanup in the Restart dialog
  36. Sofia Gazizova (ALT Linux) fixed a Writer footnote crash
  37. Andrey Ovsyhno (ALT Linux) fixed a DOCX opening hang
  38. Regina Henschel made cross-fading colours between shapes consider transparency and work also when styles are used, fixed a PPTX SmartArt roundtrip issue and implemented HSL colour interpolation while extending Draw’s Duplicate dialog to include the new interpolations
  39. Jesus Solis worked on JPEG XL image format support as part of Google Summer of Code
  40. Jean-Pierre Ledure worked on the ScriptForge library
  41. Krunal Baraskar added an enable/disable toggle to the Headers and Footers dialog in Calc
  42. Samuel Mehrbrodt (Collabora) fixed sheet references not being restored after undoing a sheet deletion in Calc
  43. Dmitry Kulikov (ALT Linux) made it so date field locale is retained over DOCX round-trip
  44. Paolo Benvenuto made space an allowed character in Writer table names
  45. Laurent Balland added a tooltip showing the page/slide dimensions when hovering over the Format listbox in Impress/Draw Properties Sidebar deck

  46. David Gilbert continued improving the memory use of Pivot Tables
  47. Saburo Yoshida fixed inability to change image properties via the Image toolbar and fixed inability to open documents as read-only by checking the option in the file dialog
  48. Masayuki Iizuka fixed named hyperlinks not working in exported PDFs
  49. Rohan Singh converted an OfficeBean example from Applet to AWT
  50. Carlos Rica fixed issues with LibreLogo
  51. René Engelhard (Debian) did some build fixes
  52. Michael Meeks (Collabora) made it so filter and pivot table headers are not included in Calc sorting
