General Activities

  1. LibreOffice 26.2.3 was announced on April 30
  2. Olivier Hallot (TDF) updated Writer’s Compatibility options help, improved documentation for wrapped images in headers, worked on documenting in help how LibreOffice treats non-integer values for function parameters expecting integer values, improved help for Declare statement in BASIC, added help for Paragraph Composer and updated help after UI changes
  3. Adolfo Jayme Barrientos updated help after UI changes and also did grammar fixes
  4. Alain Romedenne did some rework for Python help
  5. Mohit Marathe (Collabora) fixed an issue causing opaque paragraph animation layers in PPTX files
  6. Jaume Pujantell (Collabora) fixed font height not being included when copying a range of cells in Calc
  7. Miklós Vajna (Collabora) improved pasting as Markdown and polished interdependent change tracking in Writer
  8. Xisco Faulí (TDF) fixed many issues found by static analysers and upgraded many dependencies
  9. Mike Kaganski (Collabora) fixed a crash with floating tables
  10. Caolán McNamara (Collabora) fixed many issues found by static analysers and did code cleanups and optimisations
  11. Justin Luth (Collabora) fixed an OOXML chart layout issue, made table layout more robust in Microsoft formats, fixed a layout loop in DOC/DOCX files with image anchored to header and made it so variable fields in DOCX files don’t get their value updated upon opening to match what happens in MS Word
  12. Michael Weghorn (TDF) improved keyboard navigation in some dialogs, added a setting to the build system to exclude patterns when extracting tarballs, worked on using native widgets in Qt UIs and did many code cleanups
  13. Balázs Varga (Collabora) polished calculated field support in Pivot Tables, implemented support for custom page sizes in print dialog and worked on Calc table styles
  14. Christian Lohmaier (TDF) did cleanups and simplifications in the build system
  15. Heiko Tietze (TDF) made it so an infobar is shown when autocorrection happens and removed unnecessary label duplication in the Notebookbar Style Preview widget while improving the layout
  16. Jean-Pierre Ledure updated help for ScriptForge
  17. Neil Roberts (TDF) added QuickJS-based JavaScript bindings together with Stephan Bergmann (Collabora), made it possible to create and edit Python macros via the Macro Organizer dialog while fixing some issues in the dialog and made error messages more helpful for script authors working with URL fields
  18. Áron Budea (Collabora) fixed audio files going missing in PPTX export, fixed an (unreleased) XLS crash and did some OOXML compatibility improvements
  19. Karthik Godha (Collabora) made OOXML export of Pivot Tables more robust, made sizing and anchoring of objects in XLSX files follow the editAs attribute, if present, fixed a DOCX export issue with OLE objects inside frames and fixed AutoFilter button properties not being properly imported from XLSX files. He also did many OOXML compatibility improvements
  20. Andreas Heinisch made the default arrow head size consistent between the different ways to create arrows, made formatting more robust in Calc when filtered selections are involved, made it possible to do fill operations for ranges containing hidden cells (omitting the invisible cells from the operation), made the Dimension Line preview better by limiting the number of decimal places while making it respect the chosen number of decimal places and fixed Dimension Line preview not being updated
  21. Kurt Nordback (Collabora) worked on OOXML Chartex chart support
  22. Ujjawal Kumar (Collabora) polished Markdown import support and did many OOXML compatibility improvements
  23. Jonathan Clark (TDF) made it so bidirectional control characters are shown as formatting marks, fixed issues with kashida insertion in Syriac justification rules and fixed rendering of underlines in justified mixed RTL/LTR text
  24. András Timár (Collabora) fixed HTML import of nested lists with mixed ol/ul types, fixed XHTML export generating invalid id attributes, made PPSX/PPSM files be exported with the correct content type, implemented ETO_GLYPH_INDEX for EMF graphics allowing the rendering of Arabic text and implemented several other missing EMF records
  25. Khaled Hosny (Alif Type) implemented support for OpenType font variations, including in SVG import and export
  26. René Engelhard (Debian) fixed a build issue, added a –with-system-quickjs option and improved the LibreOffice man page
  27. Sahil Gautam (Collabora) improved the presentation of the Calculate options for Calc
  28. Jan Rheinländer polished the matrix creator dialog for Math
  29. Tien Nguyen Minh added “before/after cursor” word count to Word Count dialog
  30. Sergey Anisimov improved the loading of media into Impress in qt6/kf6 UIs
  31. Bogdan Buzea improved the layout of Status Bar and did some cleanups in help pages
  32. Julien Nabet made HWP file import more robust, fixed a spell checking crash in Calc and did many code cleanups
  33. Dan Williams (TDF) fixed an infinite loop in Impress on Mac when trying to print notes, implemented support for macOS-specific menu items Emoji & Symbols, Dictation, and AutoFill and made macOS headless mode handle window stacking operations to avoid input focus going astray
  34. Piotr Osada fixed pasting EMF graphics on Windows and improved EMF mime type setting
  35. Paolo Benvenuto fixed inheritance when setting paragraph style font size to 100% or 0 pt in Writer and implemented relative font sizes in Calc cell styles
  36. Christopher Sherlock did code cleanups and refactoring in VCL
  37. Michael Markl fixed an issue when removing entries from Notebookbar shortcuts and made Notebookbar separators respect dark mode in qt-based UIs
  38. Jakub Trzebiatowski fixed rounding errors seen with Apple Silicon CPUs, fixed chart data linking when there is a table name collision in Writer and implemented undo for renaming tables
  39. Jim Chen made it possible to customise numbering formats of subdocuments when creating master documents with File – Send
  40. Shlok Kanani added a live search filter to custom dictionaries
  41. László Németh implemented a paragraph composer for balancing word spacing to improve readability

  42. Ivan Kuznetsov updated Android SDK to 36
  43. Thomas Tempelmann improved the file type identification on macOS
  44. Méven Car (Collabora) fixed an issue with picture content controls in DOCX files
  45. Sampath made it so range options for PDF export are disabled when “Whole sheet export” option is checked
  46. Cassandra Freund updated Sifr and Breeze icon themes
  47. Michael Meeks (Collabora) fixed trailing superscript in a bullet item affecting the formatting of the following bullet in editeng content (Calc, text boxes)
